Here's what I ended up with for poem class:
Meta-tations by Matt Shore
In writing thoughts on writing, I would be
Found guilty (twice) on charges of ennui.
Arraigned first for the boring of myself,
Then censured for my crime upon all else.
Instead of words to cherish and enjoy,
I'd author verse to pester and annoy
With mocking tones that set the page aflame,
Affronting works whose wit I'd long to claim.
The only courts who'd rush to my defense,
Would stake their claims at risk of common sense,
By praising me for lack of artist's worth,
And trumpeting my vast creative dearth.
For their protection aids not me alone;
To shadow fault of mine would shade their own.
Katie, which poem do you like better now?
Eat it.
(Gale is totally hot.)
